It is the mission of the Macon Police Department to serve all people within our city limits with respect, fairness and compassion. We are committed to the protection of life and property, preservation of peace, order and safety; vigorous enforcement of local, state and federal laws, and to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America in a fair and impartial manner.

We are committed to serving our community to enhance the quality of life and to nurture public trust by holding ourselves to the highest standards of performance and ethics. The Macon Police Department is determined to serve as a deterrent to crime, support historic preservation, develop relationships with community groups, leaders and business organizations,and to promote an environment receptive to tourism, visitors, and citizens of the City of Macon.

General Information

Most services provided by the Department are available on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 4:30PM or call (662) 726-5838. After hours, please call (662) 726-5255 or 726-5112. FOR EMERGENCIES, call 911.

Note

The Macon Police Department does not trade patches.

Department Structure/Officers

The City of Macon Police Department consists of:

* One Chief of Police

* One Assistant Chief

* One Sergeant

* Eight Patrol Officers

* Two Auxiliary Officers

* One Clerk

In addition, the Department boasts a four-officer TACT Team and two School Resource Officers.
