The City Board of Aldermen is composed of five members elected by citizens of Macon. The Board adopts the City's budget, and makes all major policy decisions.

As the City's legislative body, the Board of Aldermen is responsible to the City's residents for all municipal programs and services, as well as local policy decisions affecting City residents in a wide number of areas, and protecting and enhancing the City's revenue base.

The Major and the Board of Aldermen meet twice a month, on the first and second Tuesday, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the City Hall boardroom located at 105 West Pulaski Street. These meetings are open to the public.
